The Future of Home Design
The global health pandemic of 2020 – 2021 sent everyone home for an extended period. As people lived “life from home,” their behaviors and attitudes about “home” took on a new level of importance. What spaces worked and what didn’t? And what do these insights mean for home design and community amenities going forward? Enter the America at Home study, a nationally representative survey of U.S. adults, aged 25 – 74 years of age, with household incomes of $50,000+/year yielding repeatable consumer insights into the changing lifestyle preferences that will impact home and community going forward.
How We Live
Take a deep dive into how the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has changed how people think about and live in their homes. What does “home” mean today? The America at Home study uncovered specific behavior changes as to how people live in their homes, including what they say is missing, the most important rooms in the home, new rituals and lasting routines, and what matters most in community and neighborhood amenities.
